SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 205

Recognizing the service of the Honorable Shirley Love, member of the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public servant and distinguished West Virginian.

Whereas, Shirley Love was born May 15, 1933, in Oak Hill, Fayette County, the son of Earl C. and Winona M. Love; and
Whereas, Shirley Love is married to his beloved wife Audrey. He is the proud father of three children, James C., IV, Crystal Lynn and Brian Stephen; and
Whereas, Shirley Love received his education in the public schools of West Virginia; and
Whereas, In 1994, the Honorable Shirley Love was appointed to the West Virginia Senate; and
Whereas, In 1994, 1996, 2000 and 2004, the Honorable Shirley Love was elected to the West Virginia Senate from the eleventh senatorial district; and
Whereas, During his tenure in the Senate, the Honorable Shirley Love served as Chair of the Senate Committee on Confirmations, and as a member of the committees on Agriculture, Enrolled Bills, Finance, Labor, Natural Resources and Transportation and Infrastructure. He also served on the Joint Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Business, Employee Suggestion Award Board, Forest Management Review Commission, Legislative Intern Committee, Legislative Oversight Committee on the Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority; and
Whereas, The Honorable Shirley Love has decided not to seek reelection to the West Virginia Senate in 2008, bringing to an end a long and dedicated career of public service; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the service of the Honorable Shirley Love, member of the West Virginia Senate, dedicated public servant and distinguished West Virginian; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere appreciation to the Honorable Shirley Love for his dedication and commitment to the citizens of the eleventh senatorial district and the State of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Shirley Love.
